AAIM’s 20th annual benefit will be held on October 24, 2010 at Venuti’s Banquets in Addison, Illinois.
There
will be a luncheon served, along with a silent
auction and cash raffle. Illinois Top Cops will
be honored at the luncheon, along with a salute
to AAIM volunteers. Proceeds from the fundraiser
benefit victims of
drunk driving who are suffering financial
devastation due to a crash involving an under-insured
or uninsured drunk driver. Since 1991, over
$500,000 has been awarded to needy families.
Everything from medical equipment, household
necessities, doctor bills, and even burials
has been provided to those innocent people who,
through no fault of their own, cannot afford
these necessities.
Tickets
for the event are $75.00 and cash raffle tickets
are available for $5 each or 6 for $25. For information
regarding the benefit, call the AAIM office
at 888-240-0027.

The 4th annual Erin’s AAIM for Change 5K Run/Walk will be held on September 5, 2010
beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Centennial Park in Orland Park. Proceeds benefit the Erin E. Olmsted Memorial Scholarship Fund as well as AAIM.

The
family of Candace Wesolowski
will host the 7th Annual Golf Outing to raise funds for a scholarship in Candace’s name. AAIM was also named as a recipient of part of the proceeds from the event. The golf outing will be held May 21st at Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont.
Candace was a graduate of Hinsdale South High
School. Candace participated in more than 20
plays during her high school years. Her ambition
was to be an architect. The significant thing
about Candace is that she never drank alcohol
or did recreational drugs. She was devoted to
family, education and hard work. Sadly,
two drunk drivers took her life on December
26, 1999 in Downers Grove, Illinois. She was
18 years old. Please visit www.candacewesolowski.com
The
8th Annual Peanut's Walk for Life was
held June 21, 2008 at Wauconda High School in Wauconda Illinois. The
event is held in memory of Theresa
Stanley who was killed in an alcohol-related
crash. Proceeds from the event will benefit
AAIM's victim services program and the Theresa
Stanley Scholarship Fund.
Peanut's annual Walk for Life was started to raise awareness of the terrible consequences of drunk driving and to help other victims of this crime. If we can keep just one intoxicated motorist off the road and save just one life, then our efforts have served a purpose - after all, it was just one man who took Theresa's life.
Peanut's Walk for Life is a 5Krun/2 Mile Roll or Stroll. For information, go to www.walkforpeanut.com.
A
drunk driver killed Caitlin Weese in May of 2003. One week before graduating from Larkin
High School in Elgin and just three weeks before her 18th birthday.
The 7th annual walk to help raise money
for a Larkin High School scholarship program and drunk driving awareness through
AAIM will take place June 12, 2010 at St. Thomas Moore School in Elgin. On September 4, 2004,
hundreds of family, friends and neighbors attended the first annual 5K Walk held in
Elgin in memory of Caitlin. The walk was a huge success and the family hopes that
it will grow over the years.
