Biker's Take AAIM Against Drunk Driving

14th Annual Bikers Take AAIM Against Drunk Driving will be held on August 28, 2016 - Proudly Assisted by The McHenry County Road Pirates.

AAIM will sponsor its 14th annual Motorcycle Pledge Run in Woodstock on August 28, 2016. More than 250 motorcycle enthusiasts participated in the police-escorted ride. Proceeds from this event benefit AAIM’s Victim Assistance Fund and will provide a scholarship in memory of Anthony McElmeel, a teenager who was hit by a drunk driver on December 23, 2000 and died as the result of his injuries on December 28th. Also permanently disabled in the crash, was Matthew Lounds. Matt was the recipient of funds from the Victim Assistance Fund to help provide a hand and foot rehabilitation system. This benefit was the brainchild of Matt’s dad, Randy Lounds. Randy has ridden a motorcycle for years and now wishes to show his gratitude by raising money for AAIM’s victims. AAIM awarded its Top Cop Awards to officers in Woodstock, Lake In The Hills, Wonder Lake, Wauconda, and in the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department who have shown a dedication to traffic safety by arresting impaired drivers. AAIM’S MOTORCYLE RIDE WAS HOSTED BY WOODSTOCK HARLEY-DAVIDSON AND SUPPORTED BY THE MCHENRY COUNTY ROAD PIRATES
