The Shane Stokowski Story

The Shane Stokowski Tribute
May 16, 1980 - March 22, 2014

This picture is of my son Shane and his fiancée Erin from their “Save the Date” photos. They were to be married October 18, 2014. The reception hall was rented, “Save the Date” cards were sent out and the church was picked out. The last time I saw my son was when we looked at the church he was to be married in. Shane was killed March 22, 2014, while trying to prevent a man from driving drunk. Instead of planning a wedding, we planned a funeral. Our hearts are forever broken.

This song is dedicated to Shane and Erin for the love they had for each other:

I'm lying on the moon
My dear, I'll be there soon
It's a quiet starry place
Time's we're swallowed up
In space we're here a million miles away

There's things I wish I knew
There's no thing I keep from you
It's a dark and shiny place
But with you my dear
I'm safe and we're a million miles away

We're lying on the moon
It's a perfect afternoon
Your shadow follows me all day
Making sure that I'm okay and
We're a million miles away

We used to imagine what would and could be; now we imagine what never will be.

We love and miss you, Shane
Mom, Dad, Patrick, Sheila and Erin
